  3. The Condition of the Church • Busy, but no spiritual life • Not enough passion for a heresy • Not enough life to persecute • A perfect model of inoffensive, complacent, nominal Christianity

  4. Symptoms of a Dead Church • Little opposition or trouble • Relying on the past for current value • Preoccupation with ‘doing’ rather than ‘being’ • A concern with to do things correctly rather than put up with the chaos of life! • Lack of impact on unbelievers.

  5. The Command to the Church - v2-3 • “Wake up” to reality • "Strengthen" what you still have • "Remember" who you are, what you are • "Obey" – Don’t just remember it, do it! • "Repent" – Say sorry and get back on track again

  6. The Promise to the Persistent – v4 • Enjoyment of heavens festivities • Participation in Christ’s victory • Guaranteed!
