District Facility Goals It is now essential for the district to: • Complete the renovation of high priority facility problems • Create a maintenance plan that effectively maintains all facilities for years to come.
High Priority District Facility Problems High School Gymnasium Built in 1974 • The gymnasium roof is old and causes numerous challenges that affect the entire building. This is a priority because of the negative effects the leaking can have structurally on the whole building. • The building’s heating and ventilation system has furnaces that are extremely inefficient and some that are beyond repair. The district desires to provide comfortable temperatures for students and patrons.
High Priority District Facility Problems Wendell High School Roof • The twenty-year old high school metal roof has lost much of its protective paint coating. Parking Lot Renovation • Student and visitor parking lot has serious drainage and pot hole problems.
Plant Facility Levy Vs. QZAB Bond Plant Facility Levy- the first solution that was dismissed by the school board as a viable option to the district needs. • $3,100,000 plant levy: • Annual Tax Impact of $60 for a $100,000 primary home • District rebuilds needs over the next ten years (not immediately), as District receives $310,000 a year. • District risks construction inflation that could cause prices to go up during next 10 years, resulting in not being able to complete all anticipated projects.

QZAB Bond QZAB (Qualified Zone Academy Bond) was identified as a better solution than plant facility levy • Will receive $3,100,000 QZAB over eleven years. • Annual Tax Impact of $50.91 for a $100,000 primary home or $4.24 a month. • District receives the entire amount to take care of ALL the high priorities IMMEDIATELY. • Construction inflation costs are avoided. • The QZAB allows the district to receive a 0% interest rate AND the District can take advantage of the Idaho Bond Levy Equalization Program, which pays for a portion of the District’s principal and interest – resulting in the district paying back less than it borrowed.

QZAB Bond QZAB (Quality Zone Academy Bond) continued • QZAB funding can be used for renovation, equipment, technology, energy, and curriculum needs of a district, thus providing an opportunity for the district to save an estimated $400,000 a year from its general fund. • Savings from general fund go to a facility maintenance plan to ensure proper maintenance on the district’s upgraded facilities.
