Specific Actions • Cost effectiveness of sanitation projects • Community mobilization and participation • Integrate hygiene aspects in school curricula • Open drains should be converted into covered network • Decentralized wastewater treatment and re-use technology • Mapping of existing sanitation facilities • Need-based/separate allocations for water and sanitation • Incentives and rewards (especially for sanitary workers) • Partnerships at the local level • Performance indicators • Monitoring committees to be made functional
