Tips for Effective Communication • Be clear and concise • Be descriptive when needed • Know your audience • Keep organized • Highlight important information • Have a reason for communicating • Emails, phone calls, meetings • Apply a sense of fun with colors, graphics, video, etc. • Welcome feedback • Adapt to various communication styles of others • WARNING: Your priorities may not be their priorities • SOLUTION: Understand the values of others
Know Your Organization • Have a clear mission and a clear purpose • STATE IT ON YOUR WEBSITE! • Identify your top 3 events • Stay connected to your national organization • Be aware of the past, but focus on the future
