  2. A Giant human being is one who is very much larger than normal. Some giants may be taller than nine feet. Many people grow extra tall naturally (like a seven-foot basketball star, for instance.) A real giant has a condition known as gigantism or giantism. It begins in childhood and is caused when the growth hormones in the pituitary gland are overactive.   3. Giants are mentioned in the Bible in several places. There were giants in the land in Noah’s day. A great many giants lived in a valley in Canaan when Abraham live there. The last of these valley giants was Og, king of Bashan. He had an iron bed that was 13 feet long and 6 feet wide. Later, when the Israelites came to the border of Canaan, they were afraid to go into their land because of the giants there. King David’s soldiers killed four giants.
