IPE Components 1) A description of the specific employment outcome – This commonly labeled as the work goal on the IPE form.
Components Continued 1) A description of required rehabilitation services that are 1) Needed to achieve the employment outcome, including, as appropriate, the provision of assistive technology devices, assistive technology services, and personal assistance services, including training in the management of those services, and
Components Continued 2) Provided in the most integrated setting and is consistent with the client’s informed choice. 3) Timelines for achievement of employment outcome and provision of services.
Components Continued 4) Description of vendors providing services and who is responsible for procuring the services. 5) Description of the criteria used to evaluate progress towards work goal. 6) The terms and conditions of the IPE including: i) Responsibilities of agency
Components Continued ii) Responsibilities of client, including: • Responsibility assumed in relation to achieving work goal • The extent of the client’s participation in paying for cost services • Responsibility of client in applying for and securing comparable services and benefits iii) The responsibilities of other entities in utilizing comparable services and benefits.
Supported Employment Statement • The IPE of a client who has been determined to require SE services must include: • Specific SE services to be provided by agency • Specify the expected extended services needed, including natural supports • Identify the source of extended services – usually a CRP
SE Continued • Provide for periodic monitoring to ensure client is making satisfactory progress. • Provide for the coordination of services with other Federal or State programs • Identify any continued training onsite • Include placement in an integrated setting based on client’s unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice.
Post Employment Services • The IPE must contain statements concerning: • The expected need for PE services prior to closing the case of a client who has achieved employment. • Description of terms and conditions for the provision of any PE services. • A statement of how PE services will be provided through other entities as the result of arrangements pursuant to comparable services and benefits.
Coordination of Services for students receiving SPED services • The Individualized Plan for Employment for students receiving or who have received services under an Individualized Education Plan, must be coordinated with the services under the Individualized Education Plan.
