  1. Establishment of ROTC Unit at ASUhttp://navycompass.com/content/view/1300/322/Presented By, Liwance Rodrigues.

  2. Contents of the Article • The commander Adm. Cliff Sharpe announced the establishment of Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) at ASU for fall 2010 on April 7th '09. • President Michael Crow's view's that dynamic naval ROTC program is a good burgeoning fit in accordance to the other offered programs like Earth and space exploration, computing and informatics, biodesign, engineering and aerospace engineering by ASU. • President Crow states that, the NROTC scholarship program fills a vital need in preparing future officers for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps. • ASU plans are to have teaching and administrative staffs in place by the summer of 2010 in order to support the arrival of students in August 2010.

  3. Opinion on the Article • I agree with president's view in regards to the introduction of the ROTC program in fall 2010 at ASU, as this program will not only provide students with a good education but will also help them better serve as officers in the Navy. • President should wisely invest into this program, particularly considering the recession effect.
