  17. How and when do Lions Give? If Lions in your area give mostly as individuals, the following ideas might be helpful. • MJFs and PMJFs • Contributing Member Program is easy and affordable for new donors • Major Donor Match • Public MJF presentation in honor of International Officer visit • Act as key troubleshooter on donation and recognition matters

  18. LCIF Grants 2014-2015 During the 2014-2015 year, LCIF awarded530 grants totaling more than US$52.5 million

LCIF Board of Trustees • Composition – 21 Trustees • Every CA represented with increased representation for top donating areas • Chairperson (Immediate Past International President of LCI) • Executive Officers - IP, 1VP & 2VP • 2 most immediate past chairpersons. • Immediate Past Chairperson = Vice Chairperson • 8 Lions representing Constitutional Areas 1-7 & Africa. • 2 Lions representing 2 largest membership countries. • 3 Lions representing 3 largest donor countries. • 2 Lions appointed by LCI International President – 1 PIP and 1 PID, not both from the same constitutional area.

Expand programs in order to help more people To help more people, more funds are needed Fundraising goal of US$50 million by 50th anniversary More funds will be achieved by increasing awareness Increasing awareness requires a group of Trustees whose top priority is LCIF

Centennial Service Challenge July 2014 to Dec. 2017 25 million people benefited (Special Goal: 10 million youth with books & literacy) 25 million people benefited (Special Goal: 10 million children with eye care ) 25 million people benefited (Special Goal: 10 million trees) 25 million people benefited (Special Goal: 10 million people with ongoing food assistance)

One Shot, One Life: Lions Measles Initiative • One Shot, One Life has raised US$1.5 million this year • US$ 15 million given to GAVI immunization programs • Goal: raise US$ 30 million by 2017 to be matched by Gates Foundation and UK DFID • By 2020, more than 700 million children are expected to be immunized • MJF recognition will continue

  26. Current Refugee Crisis • More than 12 million people affected • Nearly half of those are children

Refugee Funding Criteria • Short-term projects • Fulfill immediate needs • Projects must have a strong Lions identity • Possible projects might include: • Refugee camps/centers • Initiatives to assist refugees in transit • Long-term assistance in societal integration • Funds will come from the Disaster Relief account • Donations will be MJF-eligible • Funding for large-scale, long-term projects will depend on donations received
