Questions Raised During Discussion of Topic 1.2 • Will information from Regional Organizations be considered under USOAP-CMA? • Will States be able to have more than one National Continuous Monitoring Coordinator (NCMC)? • Will States be provided with detailed information on the transition to USOAP-CMA? • Does USOAP-CMA rely on information gathered through SSPs? • What will be required of States during the transition period? • Is two years sufficient to complete a transition to the USOAP-CMA? Will information from Regional Organizations be considered under USOAP-CMA? • Safety information gathered from Regional and International Organizations will be taken into consideration under USOAP-CMA. HLSC 29 March to 1 April 2010
Will States be able to have more than one NCMC? • ICAO acknowledges the need for flexibility in the number of NCMCs required in certain States. This will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. HLSC 29 March to 1 April 2010
Will States be provided with detailed information on the transition to USOAP-CMA? • The Secretariat will provide States with detailed information on the USOAP-CMA transition plan prior to the Assembly via State Letter or Electronic Bulletin. HLSC 29 March to 1 April 2010
Does CMA rely on information gathered through SSPs? • The CMA does not depend on information gathered through SSPs. SSPs are only one of many information sources that will enhance the efficiency of USOAP-CMA. HLSC 29 March to 1 April 2010
What will be required of States during the transition period? • States will only be required to do the following during the transition period: • Nominate one or more NCMCs who will complete computer-based training. This will be done remotely through the internet. • Provide an update to the SAAQ and CAP. These documents were originally completed by all States audited during the CSA audit cycle. Is two years sufficient to complete a transition to the USOAP-CMA? • During the transition period, the Secretariat will provide regular progress reports to Council on the implementation of the USOAP-CMA. • If necessary, additional time may be provided to complete the transition.
