Strategic Plan – Strategy 2 “We will establish a safe and secure environment that is characterized by responsible, respectful and ethical behavior within the school system.”
Board Policy 4119.12 The Desert Sands Unified School District Board of Education adopted this board policy to guarantee a positive workplace climate free of all forms of violence, intimidation, abuse, and retaliation for all employees, often referred to as “workplace bullying”.
Definition of Workplace Bullying Workplace Bullying is defined as repeated actions by a person or a group directed against an individual that a reasonable person would find: Offensive Belittling Humiliating Sabotaging Threatening Isolating Disparaging An abuse of authority
You may be a target of a Bully if: You feel sick or dread going to work Everyone at home is fed up with you obsessing about work Your doctor tells you to change jobs because of blood pressure or other health problems Days off are spent exhausted and lifeless You begin to believe that you provoked the workplace cruelty
What are the Bully’s Tactics? Ridicule and humiliation Continual criticism Aggressive behavior Character assassination Social isolating or ostracizing Withholding support or assistance Put downs about a person’s traits or abilities Getting others to also bully the target
