Big Ideas • What crisis’ do you struggle with as a teenager in a world of stereotypes, perfection and idealism? • What causes these stereotypes? • How can you depict a body in crisis without being didactic and patronizing? • What metaphors and symbols can you couple with the human body to illustrate Body in Crisis

  6. Sketchbook Assignment • Complete 2 full pages of new drawings/ideas (see my Pinterest Collage Inspiration for ideas). Pages must incorporate the figure, text, and theme of crisis. • Self reflection + Artist Statement of Body in Crisis Project – approx. 100 words

  7. 16 x 20 • Any media, mixed media preferably • Focus on proportions of figural depictions, creating layers, and using materials that further impact the theme of Body in Crisis. • Deadline, Critique, Self-Evaluation, and Artist Statement: 10/9 beginning of class
