  2. Supporting Your Thesis • There are three levels of support • Level 1: “Name the topic.” • Ex. The Lakers are the best sports team in L.A . because of their ticket sales

  3. Supporting Your Thesis • Level 2: Clarify sentences that support the main point. EX. Love them or hate them, they have outsold the Dodgers, Clippers, and Kings in ticket sales for the past 10 years.

  4. Supporting Your Thesis • Level 3: “Completing sentences add details to complete the point.” • Yes, Clippers, Dodgers, and Kings fans are passionate and loyal, but they will never be L.A.’s team because they have never outsold Lakers ticket sales ever.

  5. Ex. How levels work together • The Lakers are the best sports team in L.A . because of their ticket sales. Love them or hate them, they have outsold the Dodgers, Clippers, and Kings in ticket sales for the past 10 years. Yes, Clippers, Dodgers, and Kings fans are passionate and loyal, but they will never be L.A.’s team because they have never outsold Lakers ticket sales ever.
