Getting Started: Basic Steps • Build a strong, diverse working group and organizing coalition • Develop a Plan • Define your program goals • Clarify your issue • Decide on discussion materials • Decide how you will achieve diversity in dialogue circles • Decide what support you will provide for action ideas • Talk about resources – what you have and what you need • Make sure there is effective communication among all involved

  5. Share the work of organizing for dialogue circles • Communications • Budget and Fund Raising • Document and Evaluate Program • Recruit Participants; Form Diverse Groups • Recruit, Train and Support Facilitators • Plan for Kickoff • Find sites and Handle Logistics

  6. Hold a Round of Dialogue Circles • Kickoff (optional) • Conduct the facilitated conversations (dialogues) • Provide support for facilitators throughout • Hold an action forum • Provide support for action teams • Track action efforts
