Lumberton Housing Authority Section 8 Wait List Opens to Preference Categories September 8, 2014– September 23, 2014 • Preferences are available to those who fit any one or more of the following Selection Preferences. A definition of the Selection Preferences is located on the online application: • Involuntary Displacement; • Homeless Veterans; • Single Elderly (Age 62+) / Disabled • Rent Burdened (50% of income toward rent and utilities) • Homeless Families that include minor children • Working www.lumbertonhousingauthority.com Applications will only be accepted through the mail and must be postmarked on or before September 23, 2014. Applications are available at all public library sites in Robeson County beginning September 8, 2014 or on the HACL website. • All applicants must meet income and background eligibility as determined by HACL • Proof of income, identification, & Selection Preference will be required to verify & • process your application. • Hand-delivered, faxed, duplicates, & incomplete applications will be rejected. Housing Authority of the City of Lumberton (HACL) is one of the largest providers of rental housing in Robeson Co., owning 729 rental units. The agency features the HCV Program that assists over 500 families with monthly rental assistance, with over 100 participating owners/ agents & apartment communities. Notification of Applicant Responsibility If a letter is mailed and returned by the post office, the application will be withdrawn automatically, unless a forwarding address is listed.
