  5. HVE Engineering and Architecture • Manageable, Scalable, Reproducible and Predictable (MSRP) solutions • Scalable for large enterprise deployments or small businesses • Stateless “Liquid” Virtual Desktop • SSL encrypted connections

  6. HVE VDI Appliance Customizing, Building, and Implementing VDI Solutions

  7. 3 Paths to VDI Success Stand Alone Stand Alone HVE Systems are great for starting a new VDI environment. It comes fully configured and ready to deploy. Tethered Tethered HVE Systems are designed to tie into existing infrastructure. It is an efficient and cost-effective way to expand desktop pools. Cloud Hotspot HVE Systems can be used to create a Cloud “Hotspot” at a remote location. This setup is ideal for branch offices or other locations separated from the main data center that do not have sufficient bandwidth or other resources to communicate effectively with the central infrastructure.

  8. Persona Apps OS Profile Persona Data OS Apps View Manager(s) Persona Server Stand Alone HVE Linked Clones PCoIP Mgmt Base Image/ Replica vCenter With a Stand Alone HVE systems, there is no need for additional infrastructure. Everything needed to deploy and run the Virtual Desktop environment is included.

  9. New Desktop Pool New Desktop Pool New Desktop Pool Tethered HVE New Desktop Pool Existing Infrastructure Existing Desktop Pool HVE VDI Appliance Since many organizations today have some type of virtualization initiatives, HVE systems can tether off of, and make use of existing infrastructures and build-out capabilities.

  10. HVE Cloud “Hotspot” Central Datacenter Branch offices or other off-site locations may not have the bandwidth to support running virtual desktops from the central datacenter. HVE can install an appliance at the branch office that can handle the compute power to run the virtual desktops, but still link back to the central datacenter for persona and policy information. This gives the branch office the best possible performance while IT infrastructure and security remains intact. Remote Office

  11. HVE-STAGE Server Virtualization Platform

  12. Set the STAGE for Virtualization • 32 Logical Cores • 256GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM • A fraction the price of comparable servers When it comes to virtualizing servers, the hardware used to run the virtual machines is key to a successful deployment. HVE ConneXions has engineered a next-generation solution for server virtualization.

  13. HVE-SOLID All SSD Storage Appliance

  14. Rock Solid Storage • All SSD storage • Fewer moving parts means fewer points of failure • ¼ the cost of traditional storage solutions • Great introductory storage appliance • Affordable expansion of existing SAN or NAS capacity • 5 year warranty

  15. HVE-VAULT Backup, Replication, and Disaster Recovery

  16. Backup to the Data VAULT • Front-end Backup Control Gateway Server that connects agnostically • Utilize existing storage or cost-effective HVE-SOLID storage • End-to-end business continuity solution • Cost effective backup, replication, and DR solution

  17. TCO and ROI Analysis How HVE Helps Reduce TCO and Maximize ROI

  18. Focus on User Profiles

  19. Focus on Architecture Optimization

  20. Cost Matrix HVE Architecture Traditional VDI Cost Optimized Performance Optimized Availability Optimized Cost/Complexity Performance Worker Knowledge Worker End-User Profile End-User Requirements Structured Worker

  21. HVE Delivers Results Legacy vdi – 125 concurrent vdi users Hvevdi appliances – 700 concurrent vdi users VS.

  22. Realistic ROI Reduced datacenter power consumption with HVE VDI Appliances vs. Legacy VDI systems Reduced end-user power consumption with zero-clients “Instead of having 400 PCs sucking power on campus, we’ll instead put six or eight servers in the datacenter. That saves $50,000 the first year. Looking 5 and 10 years down the road, the utility, capital and management cost savings continue to magnify as we virtualize more desktops, and our datacenter too.” –Brooks Moore, DCS Technology Help Desk Manager, Aledo ISD
