Quality planning also includes risk management, where potential risks that may impact quality are identified and appropriate preventive measures are put in place. Quality Control and Assurance: Quality control and quality assurance are two complementary components that ensure product or service quality throughout the organization's processes. Quality control involves the operational techniques and activities used to fulfill quality requirements, including inspections, testing, and monitoring. On the other hand, quality assurance focuses on systematic actions to provide confidence that the organization will meet quality requirements. It involves establishing processes, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions to prevent issues and improve the overall effectiveness of the QMS. Quality Improvement: Continuous improvement is a fundamental aspect of a QMS. This component involves monitoring performance, analyzing data, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Techniques such as root cause analysis, process optimization, and customer feedback analysis are used to drive improvements in the QMS and, consequently, in the products or services delivered.
