JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST-2010 EXAM. DATE : 12.2.2012 (SUNDAY) INTRODUCTION OF JNVs *In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986)Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. * Presently the JNVs are spread in 27 States and 7 Union Territories. * These are Co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India
JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST-2010 EXAM. DATE : 12.2.2012 (SUNDAY) INTRODUCTION OF JNVs *Admissions in JNVs are made through the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test at class VI. * Students of the JNVs appear for X and XII class examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education.
JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST-2010 EXAM. DATE : 12.2.2012 (SUNDAY) INTRODUCTION OF JNVs * Education in the schools is free inclusive of boarding, lodging, uniforms and textbooks. * At present there are 588 Vidyalayas spread in 27 states and 7 Union Territories. * A Maximum of 80 students are admitted in class VI in each Vidyalaya, through a selection Test.
RESERVATION IN ADMISSION * 75% OF SEAT RESERVED FOR RURAL CANDIDATES * 33% RESERVED FOR GIRLS. * 15% FOR SC & 7.5% FOR ST * 3% FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * Each candidate shall appear for the selection test at the examination centre allotted to him/her as indicated on the Admit card. * No candidate is permitted to appear from any other centre. * No request for change of centre will be entertained. * No candidate can appear in the selection Test without the proper Admit card
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The competent authority for issuing the Admit card is Principal JNV.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The Language/Medium of the examination for the candidate will be the medium through which the candidate is studying in Class-V * A candidate will be given a test booklet in the language he/she has mentioned in the application form and admit card.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The selection Test will be of two-hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective-type questions. There are 100 questions in all of 100 Marks.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * A separate answer sheet will be provided. The Answer sheet will be of intelligence Character Recognition (ICR) / Optical Character Recognition (OCR) * Only Blue/ Black Ball Point Pen is to be used to write on the answer Sheet. Use of Pencil is strictly Prohibited.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The Candidate is required to select correct answer and indicate correct corresponding Number(1,2,3,4) or (A,B,C,D) given against the probable answers on the Answer sheet. * No change in the answer once written is allowed. Overwriting, cutting and erasing on the Answer Sheet is also not allowed. * One Mark will be given for every correct answer. No Negative Marking will be done.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The candidate must carefully read the instructions given on the cover page of the test booklet as well as those for each test/section before attempting the questions. * Candidates are advised to confirm that the test booklet received by them is of the language opted for the test. In case test booklet of correct language opted for is not provided, the candidate should get it changed before start of the examination. It is the responsibility of the candidate to obtain the test booklet of his choice as opted in the application form. No representation in this regard will be entertained after the examination is over.
ABOUT THE SELECTION TEST * The Total time would be two hours without any break. 10 AM to 12 AM. * There will be a bell after every 30 minutes. * No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall/ room after 30 minutes of the commencement of the selection test. * No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall / room before completion of 30 minutes after commencement of the test.
Duties of The Centre Superintendent * Write in bold letters date & time of the selection test on the black board to be placed at the main Entrance of the school along with seating arrangements of candidates in different rooms. • Appoint one invigilator for 20 candidates with one additional invigilator for every 10 invigilators to act as reliever and for distribution of test material in different rooms. • Appoint class IV Assistance( one person for every 40 candidates. • Inform them to attend the briefing session on examination day at 8.30AM. * Keep all test-booklets in safe custody before, during and after the examination.
Duties of The Centre Superintendent * Reach the examination centre at 8.00AM on the examination day along with the Centre Level Observers to conduct the briefing session for the invigilator’s at 8.30 AM. Give instructions to invigilators that use of ruler, Geometrical instruments and Calculators by the candidates is not allowed during the examination. * Adjust your watch with radio timing and instruct the attendant to follow strictly the system of ringing the bells as given in the time-activity schedule.
Duties of The Centre Superintendent * Open the sealed packets of test-booklets in the presence of Centre Level Observers and invigilators half an hour before the scheduled time for the commencement of examination. * Make room wise bundles of test-booklets and answer sheets according to serial number of the test-booklets and answer sheets. * Distribute the test-booklets to the invigilators at 9.40 AM.
Duties of The Centre Superintendent * As soon as the test time is over at 12 noon, test booklets and answer sheets may be received from invigilators duly arranged roll number wise along with attendance sheet and list of absentee candidates.
DUTIES OF INVIGILATOR * Distribute the test booklets according to serial number given on the test booklets. Place test booklet on each desk and remove absentees booklet at 10.30AM. * Check the genuniness of the candidate with the candidate’s signature & photograph on the admit card.
DUTIES OF INVIGILATOR * Put the Centre stamp on the Test-booklet on each candidate in the block provided on the cover page of the Test-booklet. * Write yourself the Roll No. and Name of each candidate in English (Block Letters) in the space provided in OCR Sheet to tally with the Roll No. and Name written by the candidate in Regional language. Prefix alpha code before Numbers. Verify the entries with the Attendance sheets
DUTIES OF INVIGILATOR * Get the signature of each candidate on attendance sheet. Start taking attendance after 10.30AM. Attendance sheets will be provided by Centre Superintendent. * Ensure that each candidate returns the Test-Booklet even if a candidate has not written anything. He must fill all entries and put his signature on the test-booklet. See that his attendance is marked.
DUTIES OF INVIGILATOR * At the end of examination, please ensure that no candidate leaves the room until all test booklets are collected and accounted for. Check the Number which must tally with attendance sheet. * Arrange Test-Booklets in serial order of Roll Number of candidate (irrespective of language used) before handing over to the C.S.
