  4. Exposition continued….. • Conflict / Problem • Winnie has found out about the magical spring water. Now the Tucks are faced with the task of continuing to protect the secret of the spring.

  5. II. Rising Action • Tucks have looked the same for 87 years • “elf music” is heard from the wood • Winnie runs away and finds Jesse drinking from the spring • Tucks kidnap Winnie • Tucks tell Winnie their secret • Stranger hears the secret • Tucks take Winnie to their home

  6. III. Symbolism • Circular objects (ferris wheel, sun, wheel, hubcap) = life cycle • Music box= calm, tranquility • Toad = friendship
