  5. 52 standards ‘ready to deliver’ as at 24/09/15 @nicklinford

  6. When highest volume sectors and levels are ready to deliver things get serious… Aug-April 2014/15 starts by framework (provisional) @nicklinford

  7. Apprenticeship levy consultation “We’re seeking your views on: a how to pay the levy a how the levy should work for employers who operate across the whole of the UK a how to make sure that employers paying the levy have the opportunity to get more out than they put in a how best to give employers control of apprenticeships” 23 questions Consultation closes at 2 October 2015 11:45pm https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/apprenticeships-levy-employer-owned-apprenticeships-training Not seeking your views on: x how to much the levy should be x definition of ‘larger employers’ Should get answers to these at autumn spending review (25 November 2015) @nicklinford

  8. The apprenticeship levy proposal • Paid by all ‘larger employers’ in all sectors (250+ employees?) • Paid as a PAYE percentage top-up (0.5%?) • Paid whether or not involved in apprenticeships • Predicted that many ‘larger employers’ wont uselevy pot so those that do will get a capped top-up • No cash contribution beyond using levy pot • Levy pot will be time limited (use or lose) • Smaller employers wont have access to levy potand will continue to have cash fee • Digital voucher system for all employer size • Payments planned to start from April 2017 • Will require a new IT system to manage the levy potand voucher application system All this could simply be a way to 100% fund an apprenticeship using the existing Trailblazer pilot method (with employer incentives) via the SFA @nicklinford

  9. How BIS see it working (para 18) … I predict biggest government headache will be building an online system which manages an employer levy pot based on payments to HMRC + This is only for ‘larger employers’, so unlikely to feel simple to providers (if that matters) @nicklinford

  10. Trailblazer pilot funding system could continue with levy & digital vouchers Small employer Larger employer CGC cap Levy £27k Paid to provider or Cash fee Top-up Completion incentive £18k Paid to employer Small employer incentive 16-18 incentive £12k £10.8k £9k £8k £6k £4.5k £9k £4.8k £3k £3.6k £3k £1.9k £4k £2k £1.6k £3k £1.5k £1k Fundingband 3 Fundingband 2 Fundingband 4 Fundingband 5 Fundingband 1 @nicklinford
