Its okay to breathe in Delhi in November but you smoke, and everyone loses their minds. Here’s a little fun fact to start off this read: Breathing Delhi’s air in November is equivalent to smoking 10 to 15 cigarettes every single day Shocked much? Or are you just going to let this slide and not do anything about it because people aren’t holding a Gold Flake in their hand? The impacts of air pollution are hardly ever taken into consideration and the government doesn’t get nearly enough slack as compared to us poor smokers. Hi, I’m Mahesh and I really don’t like how smokers are unnecessarily targeted. When we smoke, we’re shunned into separate rooms, not allowed in public and get stared at with eyes of disgust. Everyone starts campaigns forcing us to quit. 2021’s theme for crying out loud is ‘Committing to Quit!’ But have you ever thought about it like this?... When we smoke, it’s our body, our mind, our money, our choice. But the government doing little to nothing about the levels of air pollution is definitely more concerning. They’re putting the lives of newborns in danger. People don’t have a choice but to breathe-in the filth. It’s in a way or so - murder.
Now I know that an environmental crisis can’t be solved overnight. We’re all pretty understanding like that. Which is why, there aren’t riots and protests against the government on a daily basis. All we ask in return though is for you to have the same understanding towards me and all my fellow smokers. Let us make our own decisions and let us light our Gold Flake Lights knowing we won’t be treated like outcasts. Is that too much to ask? If you enjoyed this article, let us know in the comments below. I can do a part two for you as well. Because there’s a lot more where this came from! Cheers.
