  2. Yet Another Burns Nicht!!!! • Many SST members in attendance at the home of Elaine Gordon (a reported direct descendant of the bard himself!)

  3. Philly Midwinter Celtic Festival • A crew of SST members made the trek to Philadelphia for a three-day weekend of great music, great food, great beers, and great company! • Skip & Marcey Hunter, John McGlynn and Donna Looney, Erin Morrissey, Lynnette Fitch Brash & EJB

  4. The Newest SST Member • Please welcome …. Rebekah Siannen Hood Born: Tuesday, February 5 at 8:18am Vitals: 8 lbs, 10.4 oz, 21 inches. Native Language: Gaelic

  5. Upcoming Events • Tuesday, March 11th • Special FREE Concert featuring “Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble” of the USAF Heritage of America Band • Virginia Beach Central Library - 7pm • Sponsored by the Scottish Society of Tidewater

  6. St. Baldrick’s Day • The mission of the St. Baldrick's Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to conquer Kids' Cancer by shaving heads on St. Patrick's Day. • As usual, we are supporting the ‘Yes Way, Jose!’ team … • Activities will take place at the Norfolk Sheraton Waterside from 10 am to 2:30 pm. • Our own Scott MacGregor will be there to be shaved after the St. Patrick's Parade. PLEASE support Scott in this worthwhile endeavour!

  7. Nessie! • We need to get Nessie in top shape for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, as well as the Azalea Festival Parade of Nations • We are meeting this Saturday, March 8th, between 9:30-10:00 am at Church of the Ascension - Larry McCauley will be bring paint, etc. … please consider coming out to help paint/clean/etc.

  8. Tartan Day Ceilidh 2008 • To be held at Church of the Ascension Hall • Saturday, April 12th, 2008 • All Scottish menu - catered by Graham Smith et al. from the Green Oak • Live trad. music for ceilidh dancing • $25 per person • We need volunteers to help with decorating, etc.!!!! • Buy your tickets TONIGHT!!!!!!!!

Virginia International Tattoo • April 18-20, 2008 • The SST will again be attending this year's performance of the show on Saturday, April 19th as a group • The cost is $29.75 per ticket for members. Ticket purchases will have to be made by March 16. • Contact George Phillips for more information, and to buy tickets!

  10. Azalea Festival Parade of Nations • Saturday, April 19th, 2008 • Tailgate party from 8:00am-10:00am in the Harbor Park parking lot, where the parade floats muster • Parade step-off is at 10:00am • This is a fun event - please consider attending - as always, volunteers are welcomed!

  11. Next SST Meeting Saturday, April 12th, 2008 Tartan Day Ceilidh!!!!!!!!
