About Mrs. Edwins • A former student of Sunset Elementary and IHS graduate. • Graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism. •Have a Masters in Teaching degree from City University. •I have 6 years of teaching experience. I taught Pre –K at a private school and have been a substitute in the Issaquah School District since 2008. Last year I was the reading specialist at Grand Ridge Elementary. •I’ve been married to my husband Tyler for 8 years. He works for a structural engineering firm in Issaquah. We live in the area and have two children, Brody (5) and Isabella (2) and two beagles. •In my freetime I like to spend time with my family, sports activities, do arts and crafts projects and love to cook and bake.
Important Information •On the first day of school, if your child is riding the bus, please have them ride the bus. •Bus riders will always be put on the bus unless we have a note or phone call. • If your child is sick please notify the office first thing in the morning.

School Lunch Information Your child has the choice of bringing a lunch to school or buying a lunch from the school cafeteria. The cost of the lunch is $3.50 and there are several choices everyday. Each child has his/her own account number and you are able to deposit money in this account for his/her use. Whenever you send in money for the account please put your child’s number on the check and make it out to Issaquah Food Services. If you have any concerns about your child’s account call #425-837-5622. Please label your child’s lunch

I will assign students a particular week beginning in October. Monday: Bring in poster to share Tuesday: Estimation jar Wednesday: Snack(optional) and sharing Thursday: Sharing Friday: Sharing **Posterand Reminder note will go home on the Mondaybefore with student! ☺ Star of the Week
Behavior Behavior chart in back – Their name will move up or down depending on the day and how well they followed directions and class expectations. If they stay in the top half, they will earn a Seuss buck. Seuss bucks will go in jar and a name will be chosen at the end of the day to pick from treasure bin. Sensational Sockeyes – School wide, get a sockeye slip. Drawn once a week by office.
Assignments are designed to enrich students learning. -Everyday Math Homework often goes home in Friday Folders. I will let you know if I want it back. -Reading and Writing: Curriculum has some great activities to do at home with your student. -Sight word cards/Book Bags (Beginning in October) Homework
Due to the district nutrition guidelines birthdays at our school will not be celebrated with food. Our grade level has decided to celebrate with a students donating a special birthday book to the classroom. Students will also receive a birthday crown. (We love having parents come and read the donated book to the class! ☺) Please contact me before the date to setup a time for you to come and read the book to the class. Birthday Celebrations
Snack: Small, healthy, simple snacks as students have only about 5 minutes to eat them. If parents want to donate snacks to the class for those that want it, that is great. I will send out an e-mail when we are low on snack or Dixie cups to hold snack. ☺ Cheese Stick Fruit Crackers/pretzels *No peanut products for classroom snack *No juice please! Snack Information
