A With the patient lying face up, lay the material the patient is to be placed on along one side of the patient’s body with just over one-half of the material gathered close to the patient’s side. JPR 16-3A
BKneel on the opposite side (from the blanket) of the patient, extend the patient’s arm (on your side) above the head if injuries permit, reach across the patient with one hand just above the waist and one just below the hips, and roll the patient toward you. While supporting the patient, now on the side, tuck the gathered blanket material close to the body.
C Roll the patient back onto the blanket material, return the arm to the side, and wrap the blanket snugly around the patient, supporting the head and neck as much as possible. JPR 16-3C
D The patient is now ready to be dragged headfirst with the head and shoulders raised slightly off the floor. JPR 16-3D
