  1. Current Works • Performed A/D conversion on all 4 XBee pins • Implemented voltage dividers for input from IMU • Discovered Op-Amp Buffer required and re-implemented circuit • Successfully reading input from IMU wirelessly! • Continued MATLAB implementation of parse code • Seems to parse correctly but seems to miss packets • Created LabVIEW implementation of parse code • Successfully reads voltages from all 3 sensors for planar motion and displays on graph • Noticed that occasionally frame size varies or packet is lost and voltage is recorded as 0 volts • Will look into why this occurs • Sample rate does not seem to be as low as set by the parameter (sample ever millisecond), see included table • Performed more research for second version (next slide)

  2. Next Version • Best solution seems to be: • http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9184 • 6 Degrees of freedom IMU • XBEE mount built in • ATMEL ATMEGA microprocessor built in • Downsides • Uses Lithium polymer battery that will need to be purchased along with recharger • AVR Programmer not included but Microprocessor looks to preprogrammed and supplied code should be sufficient (will email company to verify)

  3. What’s Next? • Continue LabVIEW implementation • Figure out why random zero values, calibration, saving to a file • Email XBEE manufacturer about sample rate problem • Continue MATLAB implementation • Begin researching calibration techniques • Order parts for final version
