  4. Human & Physical Features! To begin with, Brazil has many human and physical features. First, Brazil has an average life expectancy of 72.4 years, which means an average person will live for about 72 years in Brazil. The birthrate (per 1,000) is about 19.2, meaning about 19 cildrenare born in a thousand. The official currency, or money of Brazil is a Real. The literacy rate is 89 percent, meaning 89 percent of the people in Brazil can read. Brazil has a total area of 3,286,488 square miles, but the United States still has a greater area of 3,794,033. In conclusion, Brazil has many interesting human and physical features.

  5. The Brazilian Flag! To begin with, Brazil’s flag has a lot of meaning, history, and many fun facts associated with it. First of all, the stars on the flag represent the night sky over Rio de Janeiro on November 15, 1889. This was the night when Brazil was declared a republic. Brazil’s current flag was adopted on May 11, 1992. Before this flag, Brazil had a temporary one, which was inspired by the United States flag. For a long time, Brazilians thought that the colors of their flag represented their natural richness. The number of stars on Brazil’s flag changes whenever a new state is declared; there are currently 27 stars because there are 27 states. The green and yellow on the flag stand for the Royal Houses of Braganca. In conclusion, Brazil has a flag with a lot of meaning, history, and fun facts.

  7. Religion! To begin with, Brazil only has one main practiced religion: Christianity. First of all, Christianity was founded by Jesus Christ, the savior, in 30 AD, in Israel. Over two billion people practice Christianity, and it is the dominant religion in South America. There is only one dominant God, who is a trinity of a Father, a Son, and a Holy Spirit. Through Christianity, there is belived to be two after lives: Heaven, which is paradise, or Hell, which is negative. The sacred text is the Bible, which holds all of the past time involving Jesus Christ. In conclusion, Brazil’s most dominant religion is Christianity.

  8. The Timeline of Brazil! 1500- Portuguese land on Brazil. They claim it as part of the Portuguese crown. 1889- The monarchy was overthrown, and federal republic established with the central government controlled by coffee interests. Brazil produces 65% of the world’s coffee by 1902. 1956- Juscelino Kubitschek is now the president of Brazil. He is starting to help Brazil achieve rapid economic growth. 1985- Tancredo Neves was elected to be the first civillian president. His vice president, Jose Sorney, became president after an economic crisis. 2000- Celebrations happen to mark Brazil’s 500th anniversery. Protests have gone against Brazil from Indians.

  9. Animals, Plants, & Natural Resources! To begin with, there are many animals, plants, and natural resources in Brazil. First of all, the Spider Monkey lives in Brazil, and inhabits tropical rainforests. It has a long tail for gripping on to trees; in fact, it has the strongest tail of any monkey! Another animal that lives in Brazil is the Sloth. The sloth is the slowest mammal on Earth, and is built for life in the treetops. The dense canopy in the rainforests in Brazil provides the perfect natural habitat for the sloth. A well known and profitable plant that is native to Brazil is Coffee. Coffee originates from areas around the equator, that’s why it can be found in Brazil. Gold is a precious natural resource mined in Brazil. Gold is a great conductor of electricity and heat, therefore it is highly involved in manufacturing processes. Uranium is another natural resource that is found in Brazil, and it produces massive amounts of energy. Uranium is used as a fuel source of nuclear power. In conclusion, Brazil has a diverse array of animals, plants, and natural resources.
