Whatis PowerPoint? • Allows one to create a presentation to sharewith a target audience. • Veryeasy to use but does not replace the presenter, whichmeansitis a visualwhile the presenteristalking.
Templates • Anytimeyoubegin a new application, the easiest and fastestway to beginis to use a template. • Wediscoveredtemplates in Microsoft Word and templates are avialable in Power Point also.
Similar Design • There are tabs/backstageview and ribbonsavailable in PowerPoint. • Similartabs as in Word, but not identical.
Views • Same location as they were in WORD, you can always access VIEW also, but in the bottom right are you will notice all views. • SLIDE SORTER VIEW, will enable you to move slides easily and delete slides too.
SHORTCUTS • CTRL M = NEW SLIDE • CTRL S = SAVE • CTRL P = PRINT • Formatting, CTRL B = BOLD, CTRL I = ITALICIZE, CTRL U = UNDERLINE • Applying Themes, Under Design • CTRL P = PRINT
PRINT DIALOG BOX • THERE IS A GREAT DEAL GOING ON IN THIS DIALOG BOX. One must be cautious when printing, or by default, all slides will print on individual pages. I will NEVER ask you to print in this manner.
Now Let’s Use The Application . . . • Your task is as follows • Go to File, new and get a blank presentation. • CTRL M, will allow you to add a new slide, YOU NEED 8 TOTAL SLIDES • Apply a Theme to your blank Presentation. • Your first slide needs to be a title slide (Right Click on the slide to change the type of slide you desire (DO NOT RIGHT CLICK IN A TEXTBOX.) • YOUR TOPIC: Apple Passbook may let you kiss your wallet goodbye, (ARTICLE) Read your article and then create your 8 slide presentation. You are going to print with 9 slides on a page. VIDEO
8 Total Slides • Title Slide • 6 content slides • Final slide, with website noted and conclusion • HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
