  5. Student Expectations • Come to class and be on time • Complete class work on time • Do all your homework and bring it to school with you each day • Bring all necessary materials to class • Be an active learner- participate! • Respect others. • Read every night!! • BRING A BOOK

  6. Curriculum (take the handouts) The curriculum is determined and developed based on the PA Common Core Standards. • Balanced Literacy • Reading, Writng, Speaking, Listening and Thinking

  14. Homework • Posted each and every morning • Students are responsible for copying assignments into their planners • Posted on line on my web page • Due the next day unless otherwise directed • Study Hall-use time wisely

  15. Grading Scale • A = 90 -100 • B = 82 - 89 • C = 75 - 81 • D = 70 - 74 • F = 0 – 69 • Home Access is available to help parents stay updated with children’s progress.

  16. Commercial: No Place for Hate • Meet once a week after school • Topics: bullying, racism, suicide prevention, peer pressure, social media, etc. • Promote: Peace, tolerance and empower kids and give them skills to deal with today’s social issues.
