Updates on CENF SB WGCENF Project Meeting 3rd October 2013 M. Calviani for the CENF SB WG team
Updates/progress • Progresses in the CE drawings based on latest discussions about ventilation system and safety aspects • Trench integration progressing taking into account RP constraints • Discussions on-going with HE to maximize vertical movement of the shielding blocks and apply ITER Code of Practice • First proposition based on this new design will come during next few weeks M. Calviani - CENF PTM 3rd October 2013
CV aspects • EN/CV provided a first pre-design of the ventilation systems of the various sectors composing the installation • This will be fed into RP/SEE calculations for the total release into atmosphere (expected ~1 uSv/y) • Lacking a complete risks assessment (see later), conservative assumptions have been used to start design of the ventilation system M. Calviani - CENF PTM 3rd October 2013
RP and safety aspects • RP aspects are well under control, and no major showstopper is to be foreseen • Preparation of a summary document note foreseen for the next few weeks • Sky shine effect to be followed • PPS and risks assessment • A small working group will be created (S. Hutchins will lead it) to prepare by end of the year a risks assessment table • Document to be prepared by end of the year M. Calviani - CENF PTM 3rd October 2013
On-going and critical • Target (pre)design is on-going – preliminary results at the next SBWG meeting (+ shielding thermo mechanical analysis) • Possibilities to avoid emptying the He-vessel under consideration online filtering • Horns design discussions still pending (critical for the powering part, for which people are ready contributing in the design) • ISR evaporator experience will be addressed during next SBWG meeting M. Calviani - CENF PTM 3rd October 2013
