  1. Using E-Class Searching for position descriptions belonging to a particular ministry

  2. This is a PowerPoint presentation of about five minutes duration. It will explain how to search the E-Class for position descriptions belonging to a particular ministry. You may exit the presentation at any time simply by closing the Window. Where this arrow appears, click on it to advance the slides.

  3. Start a clean search by clicking “view/search”… This resets all the search default values.

  4. This search uses the Ministry field…

  5. Ministry Field This field stores the short title of the ministry that “owns” the position. Managers can filter the database based on single or multiple ministry searches. Leaving the default – Any – selection triggers a cross-government search!

  6. Select search criteria… Users select one or more ministries from this scrolling list box… To select multiple ministries, hold down the <Ctrl> key while making selections.

  7. Execute the search… Searches are executed by clicking the Submit button.

  8. Search results are displayed in table format… These hyperlinks open the individual position case files containing the job descriptions…

  9. End To return to the menu of presentations, simply close this window…
