SYSTEM TEST WITHOUT BEAM (1/4) • CONDITIONS REQUIRED: • Successful completion of the individual tests of the warm magnet interlock system (LHC-MW-HCP-002) • All electrical circuits ready in the IR • Tests can be performed at zero current, only PC control unit fully operational • Logging system available • BIS operational in the desired IR • Mains network and UPS supplies operational in the IR
SYSTEM TESTS WITHOUT BEAM (2/4) • Test beam dump triggered by over-temperature in a magnet • Test beam dump triggered by PC event
SYSTEM TESTS WITHOUT BEAM (3/4) • Test beam dump triggered by over-temperature in a magnet • Circuit by Circuit • Verify that PC_PERMIT signal is OK • Verify that USER_PERMIT TO BIS is OK • Enable CMD_MAG_OVERTEMP_TEST (open the thermo-switch) • Verify that ST_MAG_OVERTEMP and PC_PERMIT are removed for a few seconds • Verify USER_PERMIT TO BIS has been removed • Validate trigger of the WIC event in the BIC history buffer and determine time delay
SYSTEM TESTS WITHOUT BEAM (4/4) • Test beam dump triggered by PC event • For any Power Converter • Verify that PC_PERMIT signal is OK • Verify that ST_FAILURE_WIC is OK • Verify that USER_PERMIT TO BIS is OK • Send CMD_FABORT_WIC to the PC • Verify that PC_PERMIT has been removed • Verify that ST_FAILURE_WIC has been removed • Verify USER_PERMIT TO BIS has been removed • Validate trigger of the WIC event in the BIC history buffer and determine time delay
