Survival camp

Survival camp. All the pupils from class 3-6 were going to a survival camp for a whole day !. But us in class 5 and 6 are gonna sleep there too  but that’s what you’re gonna see soon . Place: Kiisk byahem. Snowshoes ! :D.

  1. Survival camp

  2. All the pupils from class 3-6 weregoing to a survival camp for a wholeday! • Butus in class 5 and 6 are gonnasleeptheretoo butthat’swhatyou’regonnaseesoon. • Place: Kiiskbyahem.

  3. Snowshoes! :D • The first thing to do when we arrived to Kiisk was putting our bags into the house and then go out for a walk int the forest nearby, we were gonna use snowshoes.

  4. Out in the woods… It was pretty exciting cus when we looked at some traps that Mattias had putted up som days earlier, we actually got som e good catch both traps had animals in it. Sadly we don’t have any pictures of the mink that we caught.

  5. And a little more wood. And we also picked up some items to make up fire with later that day. It was dry sticks, reed, moss and twigs.

  6. Time for food!!! Everybody had to do their own dishes after we ate.

  7. Then we had a little free time bur soon we were going out for som ice fishing.

  8. ICE FISHING!  We had to be careful cuz we were gonna be near a rapid stream, so mattias had some theory about how to do when we were on ice and where the ice is weakest and son on.

  9. So after that, out on the ice we go! 

  10. This ice fishing trip was a HUGE experience! We also got to try “hunting “with pike traps. Look which huge caughts we got! 

  11. Actually that pikeswamaround in the water and evengaveussomemorecaught that hehadentangledhimself in. A crayfishtrap!  2 of them who werealive, onehaddied 

  12. Hughehuh? • And thats not all, Mattias hadputout 8 traps, 2 of themhadcatch in it.

  13. After that it was time to go back to kiisk. Thenwestartedmakingourshelters for the night, out of SNOW! 

  14. Later on, we grilled ourfood for the night, Sausage ;) endwealso got to havetaste of the pikewehadcaughtearlier today.

  15. Sebastian and mika after a long night in the snow! Actually they were the only ones to sleep in the ”snowcaves” we made, actually Mattias, our Guide, did that too, but he is used to it so it doesnt count 

  16. And the ones who sleptoutsidebutnext to a fireplace. Also our teacher slept at the same place (didnt actually find any picture of him) 

  17. Now a littlefishlesson. We got to learn what the name of these different fishes were. (and the crayfish)

  18. Wealsolearnedsomeaboutice, howthick it had to be for holding a human. • And also the different of ”snowice” and ”kristal ice”

  19. So, that was the end of two really fun and exciting days outside. So finally, the only pupils that slept outside the whole night was these ones: Mika, Sebastian, Daniel and Jonas. Sandra and Valter also tried really hard but it was just too cold to stand the whole night!  And we had learnt a whole bunch of useful stuffs of being outside an learning! TRY IT!
