New England Federal Partners NEFP evolved from Northeast Regional Ocean Council Federal Partners, which formed in 2007 to: • solidify federal partnerships; • support NROC and Ocean Action Plan; • Determine capacity to respond to evolving NROC priorities; and • Develop federal interagency communications and content strategy to advance regional coastal and ocean priorities.
New England Federal Partners Activities: • Statement of Common Purpose (signed May 2011): • National Climate Assessment, Northeast Chapter • New England Municipal Sustainability Network • DOI Land Conservation Cooperatives • Academic Partnerships (e.g., RISAs, Sea Grant) • Regional HUD/DOT/EPA Sustainable Communities Partnership
New England Federal Partners Activities (continued): • Pilot Project Opportunities, Best Practices • Federal Agency Climate-Related Profiles • Identifying & Servicing State, Tribal, and Local Government Needs, Solution-Oriented • Integration & Coordination with Other Key Federal Planning Programs, Expansion of Focus • Improving Communication & Building Planning and Implementation Capabilities/Capacity (at all Levels)
