  2. Why a Green Paper now? Because • Cultural and creative industries are a dynamic economic sector, creating jobs and growth • This potential is not exploited to the full

  3. What are the main “drivers” for these industries? • Digitization: New opportunities, but with a cost… • Globalization: New markets, but also an increased competition! • Cultural diversity: of contents, players etc.

  4. What can we help these industries? • Putting into place the right business environment • Helping cultural and creative industries develop locally/regionally and go global • Improving the spill-over effect on other businesses and society

  5. How shall we proceed? • Get a better environment for CCI, in particular at EU level To do that, the Green Paper will: • Look at some aspects strongly impacting on CCI … and launch a public debate.
