2. Frankie Morello Collection Though Milan is frequently considered one of the world’s capitals of fashion, it’s not without an acute sense of humor regarding it. Enter Italian label Frankie Morello, who has just unveiled their new collection for Spring/Summer 2014. Founders and lead designers Maurizio Modica and PierfrancescoGigliotti aimed to explore the parallels between the food industry and fashion in their latest range, with the assortment of shirts, blazers and trousers all adorned with unique, immensely humorous references to cheeseburgers, sushi and even fruit salads. While this may at first seem a farce, the collection is a sartorial home run, featuring tastefully thin collars on shirts, crisply cut lapels, and subtle nods to sailing culture within the color palette. This well-executed range is the result of painstaking thought and wittiness, which as the designers have noted, perhaps might be missing in other things we take in.

3. Nike Air Pippen 1 Retro Lime-Anthracite After the release of a “Midnight Navy” colorway seen here, Nike adds yet another rendition to its Air Pippen 1 Retro model in a black/flash lime-anthracite color combo. This time around Pippen’s first signature basketball sneaker is reworked with a vibrant lime green outsole and full-length Nike Air unit, as well as a black upper with a wavy design that looks to sport a tortoiseshell-like appearance. 4. 2014 VUHL 05 Revealed New kid on the automotive block, VUHL — or ‘Vehicles of Ultra High-Performance and Lightweight’ — revealed its latest addition to the sports car clan: the 05. Making its first appearance at the Royal Automobile Club in London, the car itself is being produced in Central America by the Echeverria brothers and is bringing the slick, clean, look and feel of race-car driving to the streets. Powered by a 2.0 liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and connected to a six-speed manual transmission, the 05 takes from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and tops its speed at 152 mph. As for aesthetics, the ultra-lightweight two-seater is composed of a RTM reinforced plastic body (with an option to change to carbon-fiber, or an aerodynamic flat under-body) and is perched on 17″ front and 18″ back wheels. With plans to build only 50 units a year, VUHL is pricing the 05 at a clean $106,000.

5. 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Is New Transformers 4 Bumblebee Our first look at Michael Bay’s interpretation of “Bumblebee” took form in a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro– and with the fourth edition of the Transformers series coming soon, the Autobot sidekick is getting a rework as a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. A futuristic twist to the Bumblebee’s usual classic garb, the slim and angled design was first unveiled by Bay himself. Joining the Camaro, Transformers 4 will also feature a BugattiVeyron Grand Sport Vitesse, a Corvette Stingray, a PaganiHuayra, and a truck from the Oshkosh Defense. 6. Nike KD VI Launch Event Recap Nike and Kevin Durant recently unveiled the Nike KD VI, Durant’s latest signature shoe, in his hometown of Seat Pleasant. A jam-packed event hosted by ESPN’s Michael Wilbon, the launch of the KD VI brought together friends, family, and media from 10 different countries to witness the latest and greatest from Nike and Kevin Durant. Durant started things off at the Seat Pleasant Recreation Center before taking everyone on a tour of different locations important to him, such as his grandma’s house and his local outdoor courts before treating everyone to food from local eatery Keith & Sons Soul Food. Later on, Durant would point everyone to different locations which served as inspiration for some of the launching colorways. A celebration of Kevin Durant’s past, present and future, the launch of the KD VI was an event like no other. Oh, and the shoes weren’t bad either. 7. Zanerobe 2013 Summer Collection Zanerobe started off as a bet between two friends. Over beers one day, co-founder Jonathan Yeo recalls “seeing a guy dressed in a hideous striped shirt” and betting LeithTestoni — then the more “fashionable” of the two — that he couldn’t design a better garment. In Yeo’s words, “It was on.” Now one of the most exciting young labels hailing from Australia, Zanerobe’s unique brand of sportswear fuses quality workmanship with bold designs that draw from influences as diverse as American prep and Australian surfwear. Featured this season are staples like short-sleeve button-downs and chinos infused with summery colors and vibrant patterns, along with considered details like elasticated cuffs and contemporary fits. 8. Nike Zoom Hyperflight Max Iridescent New this season is the Nike Zoom Hyperflight Max, an update of the classic Nike Zoom Hyperflight. 9. Playboy x A Bathing Ape 2013 Summer Collection After the anticipation garnered by several teasers released over the past two weeks, A Bathing Ape has finally unveiled their collaborative endeavor with Playboy – a summer capsule for the present season. The Playboy x A Bathing Ape Summer 2013 collection is a full range of T-shirts, sweaters, casual and polo shirts, hats, and other accessories, each combining the distinctive aesthetics of both parties. The iconic bunny looks notably fresh when filled with A Bathing Ape’s signature deconstructed camouflage, not to mention when applied on tailored shirts and an essential black cardigan. For good measure, a bow tie and fedora complete the collection, which will be available starting on July 6 on BAPE’s web store.

10. Adidas Basketball Unveils Crazy Light 3 Just over a year after unleashing the Crazy Light 2 on courts worldwide, adidasBasketball now delivers the third installment of its featherweight high top: the Crazy Light 3. Here we find the Crazy Light 3 weighing in at just 9.4 ounces, removing the previously seen plastic heel counter in favor of a full mesh upper. This upgrade doesn’t sacrifice support though, as adidas’s patented four-layer SPRINTWEB upper wraps the foot in maximum cushioning. This works in conjunction with the highly tested SPRINTFRAME midfoot chassis, which adapts to foot motion on the fly for full custom support. The first incarnation of the shoe is executed in a bold blue and electric green colorway, with nine other color combinations accompanying the shoe’s release on August 1.

11. Magna Carta… Holy Grail – The Samples One of the more interesting perspectives from the Kanye West Yeezus release was the archive of samples that were curated by Gianni Lee and Mike Blub. The duo have returned again this time to add their touch to Jay-Z‘s recent Magna Carta… Holy Grail full-length. The selection of samples provides a deeper appreciation for the extent and breadth of the music knowledge of Hov as well as the other collaborators from the album. The sample list includes bites from the likes of Sizzla, Johnny Guitar Watson, Adrian Younge, Nirvana, Mase, R.E.M., Gonjasufi and many more. Taking it even further into Hov’s resume, Lee and Blub also offered a mix of samples from Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt album.
