Adam Brown is known for his versatile, trim-fitting trunks, but this season the photographer-turned-fashion designer alludes to his first love with a trio of photorealistic swim shorts for Orlebar Brown. Printed with images from fellow photographer Gray Malin, the trunks capture resort living at its finest — eye-catching designs that celebrate the beach, pool and waves of one’s ideal vacation spots. The mid-length Bulldog silhouettes, more importantly, are tailored and streamlined enough to take one from the beach to drinks in style, making these a worthwhile addition to any jet-setter’s rotation. Considering that wireless trends of recent times have equated ‘big’ to necessarily mean ‘better,’ the release of HTC‘s One Mini is a breath of fresh air. This phone – HTC’s follow-up to the ever popular HTC One – houses a 720p resolution within its 4.3″ body, as well as BoomSound speakers and a 4 megapixel camera at the back of the device. Under the hood, we find the One Mini equipped with Android 4.2.2 out of the box, running with Sense 5.0 and powered by a pretty zippy 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400. The aluminum body from the HTC One has been replaced with polycarbonate around the sides, making for a lightweight, though durable device. Enjoy a look at the HTC One Mini, releasing to worldwide audiences later next month. HTC One Mini

Since ancient times, trade has organically positioned itself as a catalyst for trans-cultural diffusion. Its centralized marketplace is more than just an arena for the trading of goods and services; it also creates a forum for the inquisitive to share in the transmission of ideologies, religion, history, customs, art, etc. So as buyers and sellers become more familiar with one another – as in trading more frequently and sharing more product – the proverbial floodgates give way to a river of cultural content exchange that over time travels to the remaining respective populations, thus blurring the lines that once distinguished these particular groups from one another. This phenomenon is often referred to as acculturation or assimilation, where the Western world’s impact on developing nations can be seen as a prime example. Moreover, its effect on particular industries sees the birth of a globalized market in which people from various walks of life share similar wants, values, choices and even purchasing habits. Helen Thomas, the irrepressible White House correspondent who used her seat in the front row of history to grill nine presidents — often to their discomfort and was not shy about sharing her opinions, died Saturday. She was 92. Thomas, who died at her apartment in Washington, had been ill for a long time, and in and out of the hospital before coming home Thursday, according to a friend, Muriel Dobbin. Thomas made her name as a bulldog for United Press International in the great wire-service rivalries of old, and as a pioneer for women in journalism. She was persistent to the point of badgering. One White House press secretary described her questioning as ‘torture’ — and he was one of her fans. Her refusal to conceal her strong opinions, even when posing questions to a president, and her public hostility toward Israel, caused discomfort among colleagues. In 2010, that tendency finally ended a career which had started in 1943 and made her one of the best known journalists in Washington. On a videotape circulated on the Internet, she said Israelis should ‘get out of Palestine’ and ‘go home’ to Germany, Poland or the United States. The remark brought down widespread condemnation and she ended her career. Helen Thomas Dead
A sheriff’s deputy was suspended on Thursday after bringing a can of Arizona Ice Tea and a bag of Skittles to work at a Florida county jail. These items have become deeply symbolic in the controversial trial of George Zimmerman, as they were being carried by Trayvon Martin when he died in Sanford, Florida, in February 2012. Corporal Chris Wood brought the candy and soda in last Saturday to try and make a misplaced point about separating professional and personal opinions in the workplace. But his superiors saw the gesture as ‘offensive’ and ‘insensitive’, and Wood was suspended – his first disciplinary action in 10 years of service for the sheriff’s office. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said that: ‘His delivery of that message was completely insensitive to not only the people in the room, and the things that were going on in our community, and our society, at that point, and that’s what stimulated us looking at it.’ According to WFTV, Wood has been given a written reprimand and also he will be made to attend sensitivity and interpersonal training. Fresh off the introduction of the collaborative A.P.C. KANYE collection, it looks like Kanye West could be making a return to the world of fashion this fall. According to Page Six, Yeezy recently returned from a trip to Milan where he was hard at work on an upcoming line for his eponymous label. According to the source, West worked alongside Nicola Formichetti, now with Diesel, to craft a unisex collection of nearly 100 pieces – the entirety of which could be revealed during this fall’s fashion shows. This would mark West’s first foray into menswear for his own label as he famously revealed a Spring/Summer 2012 collection of womenswear – Dw by Kanye West – at Paris Fashion Week in the fall of 2011. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have put their sprawling Tennessee property on the market for a breezy $20 million. One of country music‘s favourite couples will be parting ways with a giant 753-acre farm consisting of four residences, but according to the real estate listing, the main house remains unrestored. Faith, 45 and Tim, 46, purchased the property in 2001 from renowned country music legend, Hank Williams, Zillow is reporting. The enormous property is located in the town of Franklin which is on the outskirts of Nashville, the home of country music. According to the Real Estalker blog, the Breathe songstress and her husband of almost 13 years purchased the entire estate in 2001 in separate pieces. Faith and Tim are now selling the entire parcel of land as a whole. The largest home on the property is an Antebellum-style mansion, which features high windows, tall white columns and boasts a charming historic feel. This residence has high ceilings and stunning floorboards, which do not appear to be as polished as they could be. Faith Hill And Tim McGraw $20M Mansion
