  3. IN-DISTRICT ROUTES • Secondary AM & PM – 16 routes • Elementary AM & PM – 17 routes (2 routes PM only) • Walking Wounded – 2 routes • Curriculum Programs: Swim program – 36 trips Planetarium – 38 trips Music programs - 34 trips Others (After school) - 1,680 trips

  4. Special Out of District Routes • Private & Parochial – 8 routes • Placement of Special Needs Students – 16 routes • Other programs (BOCES) – 3 • Other transportation: Field trips - 216 trips Athletic trips – 269 trips

  5. District Specifications • Square Miles – 37.407 • Student Enrollment – 2,269 pupils (public & non-public) • Non-allowable pupil decimal - .022 • State Transportation Aid Ration - .405

  6. Transportation Expenses • 2007-2008 $2,926,458 • (includes $2,547,576 + $378,882) • 2008-2009 $3,161,462 • (includes $2,742,505 + $418,957)

  7. Transportation Aid 2007-2008 • Aid Received $ 1,047,653 • Based on expenditures of $2,795,460 • 37% aid received on total expenditures

Policies & Procedures • Separate bus routes for public and non-public school students. • Designated bus stops for some regular in-district runs. • Special transportation for student pick-up and drop-off per parental request (can change day-to-day). • Bus pick-up points require students to walk for regular runs: • Secondary level - .4 of a mile • Elementary level - .2 of mile • Bus pick up points require students to walk for after-school programs: • Secondary level - .4 of a mile • After-school programs runs are established each day.

  9. RFP Timeline • Board Approval of RFP – September 18 • Mail RFP to potential firms – September 19 • Firms to return RFP – October 14 • Board accept proposal – October 16 • Begin evaluation – October 27
