TWIC Pilot Program • SAFE Port Act of 2006 requires testing at 5 distinct locations throughout the U.S. • The following ports/facilities are set to participate: • Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach • New York/ New Jersey Port Authority, including Staten Island Ferry • Port of Brownsville, TX • Watermark Cruises (passenger vessels in Annapolis, MD) • Applies Port Security Grant Program funding
TWIC 2 Rulemaking • MERPAC’s input will be included in a future TWIC 2 NPRM • USCG plans to develop a Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) • Will include data from the Pilot Program • Will include input from Advisory Committees
