  5. Main topics • Autumn 1 – Jurassic Forest • Autumn 2 – Polar Regions and Ice Explorers • Spring 1 – Amazing Africa • Spring 2 – Mini-beasts (Forest School) • Summer 1- Royal Family • Summer 2- Water, Seas and the Galapagos Islands (Blue Planet Aquarium)

  6. Reading • Guided reading each week • Read with 1:1 • Benchmarking (Reading levels) • Reading at home • Reading challenge (every 3 reads = paperchain)

  7. Homework • Please see additional homework sheet

  8. P.E- Thursday & Friday Please remove all jewellery before coming to school on these days. • P.E Kit • Black shorts • White T-Shirt • Pumps • Dark Tracksuit (woolly hats are useful in the winter months!) • Trainers • Please put your child’s name in every item!

  9. Kirf- Maths Monkey Meet Kirf. He is our Maths Monkey. The children are invited to take it in turns to take him home with them and do some Maths!One child will be selected at random in our weekly Year 2 maths challenge. He should be returned by the following Monday.

  13. SATS Month of May Small groups Children have lots of fun outdoor activities on the same day Biscuits and juice Practise papers online We refer to SATS as quizzes in class SATS meeting later in the Year.

  14. Independence • Promote independence • Changing reading books • Taking home water bottles • Lost jumpers/trainers • Homework books
