  2. The Sneak Attack • Nathan Hale volunteered to spy on the Germans also known as the hessians but then got hung • They planed an attack on the Germans mercenaries • December 25 Washington’s solders began crossing the Delaware river after dark

  3. Victory!!!!! • When Americans got to shore they captured nearly 1,000 Hessians. • They won with 2,400 troops and 18 guns • Hessians had 1,400 troops and only 6 light guns.

  4. Interesting Facts • Henry Knox said, “The night was cold and stormy; it hailed with great violence!!!!! • They attacked because American’s knew that the Hessians weren’t going to be ready on Christmas. • And because the British team wanted to take over the Delaware River and the American’s owned it at the time.
