The Legislative Branch (also known as) Congress Is made up of both: The House of Representatives The Senate • 435 members • 100 members Each state has different number of members based on population.Example: CA has 53, Wyoming has 1 Each state gets to Senators, regardlessof population. Example: CA has 2, Wyoming has 2 • Elected every 2 years • Elected every 6 years The US has a bicameral legislature, meaning there are two houses (House of Representatives and Senate. The Congress is very important! These are the guys that create and pass the laws that affect us everyday. Collectively, they may be the most powerful branch of government.
