HOW TO STUDY? • Read everything (MK, RB, ppt slides) • Underline unknown words/expressions • Find their meaning (dictionary, slides, web,...) • Self-check comprehension (sentence by sentence) • Check comprehension with Dora • Detect key words/expressions for each topic • Explain their meaning in simple English • Retell the main message of the text orally • Revise • Revise again • Revise some more

WHY DO SOME STUDENTS DO BADLY/FAIL? • poor time management skills (How much time do you need to prepare well? ) • lack of deeper understanding (Do you know what you have just read? Can you retell it in Croatian? Does it all make sense?) • not enough revision (How many times did you go through each text?) • poor English: How do grammar problems affect understanding?
