Research Directions • Read the volcano information source at your group tables. • Completely fill out your Volcano Research Sheets **They will be stamped for credit! • Look at the last slide that shows the locations of all the assigned volcanoes and CLEARLY record your volcano location on your world map **This will be added to your poster/model NOTE: Complete instructions are also on the back of your Volcano Research Sheet
Volcano Poster • Draw a REALISTIC diagram of your volcano with the lithosphere and mantle below it. Example *Composite Volcano - Ocean-Continent Subduction Mantle
Volcano Poster • Add ALL of the information from your Volcano Research Sheet to your poster (Read Volcano Poster Instructions) • For terms to add to diagram, refer to your volcano research sheet. • Tape the volcano location map to your poster • MAKE SURE YOUR VOLCANO LOOKS LIKE THE REAL THING!!! • This worth 40 points
Volcano Model • Read the Volcano Model Instructions • Create a REALISTIC model of your volcano • (e.g. Clay, chicken wire/modeling clay, paper mache, etc.) • The model MUST be on a flat base like thick cardboard or plywood • The volcano MUST be painted accurately • TYPED toothpick flags will be used to display the volcano research information • Glue volcano location map on the cardboard/wood base • IMPORTANT: You WILL have to do some of this at home – you will only have 3 class periods to do this! • This is worth 100 points! IT HAS TO BE GOOD!
