  2. Why stable society needs law enforcement In order to maintain a stable society we need to enforce laws to create a safe environment for everyone. Without the laws, the streets and surroundings would be full of chaos,not allowing everyone to live in a safe condition. Therefore enforcing laws are important which will reduce/stop others from doing wrong things to the community and the surroundings.

  3. Fast facts • 150 policemen and women have lost their lives in the line of job. • Victoria Police was authorised on 3 January, 1853.

  4. Fast facts • Victoria Police owns 46 motorbikes, 32 marked road bikes and 14 off-road bikes. • There are 2300+ vehicles in the Victoria Police including divisional vans, marked cars, unmarked cars & etc.

  5. Fast facts • William Henry Fancourt Mitchell was the first Chief Commissioner. • Simon Overland was the 20th Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police.

  6. Fast Facts • Victoria Police services are available to the community 24 hours a day, seven-days-a-week. • There are more than 328 permanent police stations across Victoria.   

  7. Fast Facts • The values of Victoria Police are integrity, leadership, flexibility, respect, support and professionalism. • Deputy Premier Peter Ryan is the Minister for Police and Emergency Services.
