  3. 27.5 Period week Pros • Longer teaching slots – promotes more Active learning • Opportunity for depth of learning • More time for teaching due to less movement around the school • Improved behaviour due to less movement • Better Opportunities for Inter-Disciplinary learning • Articulates well with 2 hr slots in the Senior Phase needed for Partnership Working and School-College links • CONS • Smaller amounts/’Pieces of the cake’ • Some subject areas lose time in the broad general education to strengthen emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy
