Word Structure Line 1 What does the prefix pre- mean? discuss the definition of each word. The prefix pre-means “before.”
Word Structure Line 2 What does the prefix mis- mean? Identify what the prefix –dis means. discuss the definition of each word. Mis- means “wrong” or “bad”. Dis- means “Opposite.”
Word Structure Line 3 What does the suffix –ful mean? Adding the suffix –ful to base words makes them adjectives. What spelling change was necessary when adding the suffix –ful to the word beautiful When the suffix –ment is added to a verb it becomes a noun. enjoy – enjoyment The suffix –ment means “action” or “process.” the word enjoyment means “the action or process of enjoying something. Ful means “to be full of something.” the y changes to i before adding the suffix –ful.
