  1. Reconstruction: Annotated Bibliography • Bell Ringer: • In your agenda, write down the following timetable. This will be your schedule for the week. • Due Wednesday, 4/9: Have Source 1 & 2 research and rough draft ready(Have 2 copies of your rough drafts) • Due Friday, 4/11: Have source 3 Research and rough draft ready for peer editing. (2 copies) • Final draft Due Tuesday, 4/15

Annotated Bibliography • Definition: Alphabetical list of resource citations on a specific topic. • Includes: • MLA Citation • Concise (5-8 sentences) Summary of information available in the source • Thoughtful evaluation (2-3 sentences) of the value of the source • Yours will include 3-4 sources

  3. Annotated Bibliography: Rubric • MLA Citation (15) • (3 required at 5 points each) • Summary (45) • (3 required at 15 points each) • Evaluation (30) • (3 required at 10 points each) • Quality and Formatting (10) • Total (100)

  4.   6. Peer Editing Expectations • Edit for content over grammar and spelling first. • DO NOT CROSS OUT SOMEONE ELSE’S WRITING! • Be Kind and helpful! (make their work better) • Step 1: read the entire annotation as a whole (no pencils) • Step 2: break the work down into sentences, and see if they have what’s required • Step 3: Suggest specific ways that they can add detail or thought that will help. • Step 4:edit for spelling, punctuation, and grammar

  7. Peer Editing: Summaries • Write down the following: • Intro (1 sentence): • What is the purpose of the book (or chapter of a book), article, or website? • Body (3-6 sentences): • What are the 3 most important facts in the source? • What does the source tell you about your topic? • Conclusion (1 sentence): • What is the conclusion of the source?  • How does the source describe the historical impact of the topic? • Why, according to the source, is this topic significant?

  8. Peer Editing: Evaluations • Does the Eval. have answers to the following? • Write these down as well • Is it in 3rd person! • How useful is the source in helping you to understand the topic? (examples? details?) • Is the source specifically about thetopic, or does it include information that you didn't need? (examples? details?) • How easy to use and understand is the source? (include why) (examples? details?)
