Session Objectives • Participants will become familiar with some of the features available within iTunes 10. • Participants will be introduced to iTunes U, which is available in the iTunes Store. • Participants will subscribe, listen and provide a reflection on one or more of the podcasts available within iTunes U.
iTunes 10 Basics Independent Project Assignment
Many users are already familiar with iTunes… • Therefore, we will explore: • Creating and using Playlists • Creating Smart Playlists • Editing Song Information • Subscribing to iTunes U
Activity #1 • Download the iTunes Tutorial PDF from the course wiki. • Review the following sections in the tutorial: • Creating Playlists – page 6 • Creating Smart Playlists – page 7 • Editing song information – page 8 • Organize the music in your iTunes Library
Activity #2 • View the following slides which will guide you through accessing iTunes U. • Subscribe/Download and listen to one or more podcasts from iTunes U. • Use Microsoft Word to create a minimum 1 paragraph reflection about the podcast you listened to. • Upload your reflection to the course wikipage.

Within each subject there are profiles of all of the available podcasts. Click the image icon when you make your choice.
You will see a list of all of the available podcasts. You can view the topic, length, and the date that it was posted.
Downloaded podcasts will appear in the Podcast section of your iTunes library. Listen to the podcasts in iTunes, on your iPhone, iPod or other MP3 player.
Type a brief reflection • What was the title of your podcast? • Where can it be found in iTunes U? • What was the podcast about? • Who might the podcast be helpful for? • Why did you like or dislike the podcast? • Upload your word document to the course wiki.
