The Problem (Opportunity) • Less qualified women in the society are not given employment opportunities because of: • insecurities, • oxford thinking • and problems like sexual harassment at work place. • They are dependent on their families and this creates a sense of powerlessness and dissatisfaction. • Non hygienic and high cholesterol food at high costs available in offices. • Non hygienic food creates health problems like food poisoning, hepatitis and other viral diseases. • High cholesterol food rises obesity which is main cause of heart attack. • Working women find it difficult to manage cooking for themselves and their families along with the office chores.

  3. Theory of Change • ‘Going-out’ for work is not necessary • House wives can share economic burdens equally • Economic independence for women who are participating. • Providing hygienic food at low prices. • Hygienic and healthy food prevent them from being a patient of blood pressure, heart disease, stomach ache/ burning, digestion problem etc • Working women do not have to worry about the cooking tasks.

Social impact: Self empowerment • No more financial dependency • Better utilization of cooking skills • Promoting food culture • Providing employment platform for women who were not able to continue studies for some reasons. • Solving problem of health hazard for working class by providing purely homemade fresh, healthy and hygienic food at a reasonable cost.

Social impact: • The plan is to hire house wives who have good cooking skills • They will get paid for cooking the food which will be distributed –initially to nearby vicinities. • This will create a sense of accomplishment for the house wives while resolving task delegation issues for working women as well as providing healthy hygienic food for the working class. • Promoting our traditional food.

Vision and mission: • To give confidence to women who stays at home and feels low about not being the part of family income. • Self empowerment for house wives. • Work from home while using your skill in case you are not educated enough. • Healthy fresh food provided on very low rates. • To help working women in lowering their work load.

  7. Vision and Mission The change in the community would be for less qualified women who can earn while sitting home. They can divide the burden of the family by their economic contribution. Hygienic food will be provided which will lead to live healthy life.

  8. Solution 1. Working class specifically are our costumers. 2. Home delivery service would be provided for all on requirement. 3. Our competitors are all food suppliers whereas we are different from them because we are providing them homemade and hygienic food at low cost.

Solution • Solving problems for working class by providing them hygienic food • Resolving economic problems for house wives • Contacting willing house wives who can cook well and giving them opportunities to earn in a respectable way • Providing delivery of food to work places and formal/informal functions • Caterers are supplying food as well but a) not for workplaces b) its male dominating c) not working for social change

Financial Summary • Financial Need: • Cooking bills for gas and electricity, cooking material, etc • Disposable packing • Transport • Printing for advertisements, menu cards and feedback cards • BUDGET: • 98,000 (initial for food supply of 50 people per month and 1,960 per person ), could be almost 2000/- per person for a month

STATISTICS • According to our survey: • 78% working persons would like to avail the opportunity to eat home made food at lunch time. • 19% were reluctant to say yes to the idea because they preferred eating out • While 3% said that if its low priced and good taste, they wouldn’t mind where the food came from! • 77% house wives said they were brilliant cooks and would love the opportunity to get paid for their talent • 23% said they would love the opportunity to earn money while sitting at home, however, they would not want to be a cook!
