TGS/OSR/Office Postdoctoral Affairs Collaboration • Increase the number of pre/post-doctoral candidates applying for fellowship applications • OSR’s role will be to help educate students on the research enterprise at NU • Our first attempt will be with NRSA applicants submitting to the April 8th deadline • OSR will provide students with a timeline for the submission process as well as an application checklist • If successful, we will spread the focus to HHMI and IGERT application deadlines as well • Interested applicants will then enroll in TGS’s Fellowship Proposal Writing Workshop • OSR will announce the first student out-reach session in early December
NRSA Review • First KEY question: Is the applicant already at NU or will he/she be coming in the future? • If the applicant is here we can add the person to PD and submit the application S2S • If the applicant is forthcoming (i.e. not in NU’s systems) • We will need to complete and submit using the SF424 Adobe Form
NRSA COI Compliance • First KEY question: Is the applicant already at NU or will he/she be coming in the future? • If the applicant is here we can add the person to PD and submit the application S2S • List the pre/post-doc as the PI on the InfoEd record • He/She will be required to complete COI training and complete their initial disclosures. • Sponsors will also have to update their disclosures prior to submission • If the applicant is forthcoming (i.e. not in NU’s systems) • The paper COI disclosure will be required prior to submission. • Sponsors are still required to update their disclosures through FASIS
NRSA Second KEY question: Are you using the appropriate announcement?
