Objectives of the Study To find the usefulness of interventions in the Process of Practice Teaching • Micro teaching and communication skills • Content and Pedagogical knowledge • ICT (Information and communication technology) • Management skills in classroom transactions • Lesson plan writing • Preparation of Teaching aids • Evaluation skills • Observation skills
Data Collection Data collected through informal interviews of teacher educators and Student teachers Limitations of the Study The study is based on responses given during informal interviews and therefore indicates the perceived usefulness of certain interventions made during the B.Ed program. The data cannot provide information about the effectiveness of these interventions in terms of specifically defined parameters such as content knowledge, attitude and skills of the student teachers

Positive responses towards • Observations and reflective feedback • Content and pedagogical knowledge • Technology • Construction of test items • Communication skill Non positive responses towards • Teaching and Learning Materials • Lesson Plan writing
Reasons for Positive Responses Towards Interventions • Integration of classrooms with communication skills. • Allow students to talk in classes -- Discussions, arguments, debates, ….. • Reading materials and reproduce with self experiences by students. • Constructive class room approaches. • Group works • Allow students for Field Experiences – observations, Case Studies. • Access for Good books and technology . • Reflective Dairy writing by Teacher Educators. • Detailed reflective feed back sessions for student teachers
Challenges Faced • Rigid frame work of Bangalore University • Fixed type of activities – ( for instant – micro teaching, Lesson plan ..) • Time constraint • No good books in kannada language • Adapting to new methods of learning
Way Forward…. This study gives only the directions for useful activities in B.Ed programme and the challenges faced during interventions. These observations can lead to further quality improvement in B.Ed colleges which intern shall lead to improvement of quality of education in schools..
